Answers to some questions that get asked regularly of The Hunter Inspector:

Which areas do you service?

We service vast area of the Hunter Valley. We venture as far North as Tea Gardens, West to Singleton, South to Lake Macquarie and all along the coast.

If you fall outside this area but would still like to use our services or are just after some advice, feel free to call the office as we often make special trips outside our boundaries to service those after premium building and pest inspectors.

Do you arrange access to the property?

Yes.

As we have a team of dedicated office staff, we are able to organise everything from start to finish. After you have decided to continue with your inspection and given us your details, our office staff will make contact with the real estate and vendors/tenants to organise a suitable time for the inspection to take place.

How long does an inspection take?

Approximately 1.5 hours on site.

Our inspector spends a great deal of time on-site ensuring that he has inspected all accessible areas of the property to which he can reasonably gain access. Inspection duration typically varies depending on the type and size of the dwelling; whether or not the inspector has access to a subfloor area and a roof void will also mean the duration may be longer.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made in the form of Cash, Cheque, Bank Deposit, or Credit Card. Payments are typically made prior to the completion of your inspection/handover of reports. Payment details will be sent to you in your agreement that you will receive prior to inspection taking place.

Can I speak to the inspector after the inspection?

Yes.

As part of our dedication to top quality customer service our inspector will give you a follow up phone call as soon as possible after your inspection has been completed. Phone calls will be made no later than the evening of your inspection.

How long before I get my report?

The following business day.

All of our reports are sent out the following business day to your e-mail address; typically by 9:00am. In our continued commitment to quality customer service, inspections which are completed on Fridays are sent out on Saturday mornings, rather than the following business day.

Is your company insured?

Yes.

The Hunter Inspector is completely insured with an industry based insurer. We have policies for both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity.

What experience does your inspector have?

Mike has over 40 years’ experience across a broad range of areas in the building industry. Mike now uses his knowledge of building and construction to assist buyers and sellers in real estate. Since moving into the inspection industry Mike has completed over 2,000 inspections and has received continual praise from clients.

Do you have office staff that I can contact?

Yes.

With dedicated office staff we are able to take calls, arrange inspections and answer any of your queries when sole operating inspectors may be unavailable.

Operating from a staffed office is an indication of our strong commitment to giving our customers an un-matched experience when it comes to quality customer service.

Do you do pest and building inspections at the same time?

Yes.

Our inspector is not only a licensed Master Builder, but also a qualified and certified Pest Inspector. This means you only have to arrange one inspection, generally saving you both time and money, and also means a much easier process for the vendor or tenants.
